November was an educational month. The work I was doing with WAP Gateways expanded into an analysis of different wireless and wired transmission technologies. I got a free reign to download tutorials about GSM, TDMA, GPRS networks etc and loads of other really cool stuff. I found this Wireless Telecommunications stuff fascinating and I started having a look for Masters degrees I could do in the subject, after I spend a year in Japan on the JET scheme. Yes, I do tend to think pretty far into the future.
I found a great site W3Schools which has some well thought out tutorials. I spent a few dark winter nights in the office at night working through VBScript, JavaScript and ASP tutorials. Well hey, it beats BBC2 Wildlife documentaries... I had a rethink about my (self directed) learning strategy, and decided to concentrate on in-house stuff. I got Zope 2.2.2 and worked through the accompanying tutorial package. I'm currently trying to use Zope throughout this eOghaNLINE project as my project management interface. More elsewhere.
We started going to pub quizes and playing indoor football. I scored Team Propylon's first ever goal against local Enniscrone opposition, and it was a peach if I do say so myself. Then they stuffed us.
My work revolved round drawing up profiles of different Transport technologies and kept me pretty busy.
I signed up for Banking365 so I could use my company mobile phone to get my huge bank balance read back to me. This can come in pretty handy.
